EYFS/Key Stage 1 Results

These results show a particularly positive improvement in writing outcomes compared to the previous year. This is due to the increased focus on the application of writing skills and the impact of more consistent phonics teaching in the early years.

 

 

We are particularly proud of our children’s achievements in phonics as our results have improved significantly! We attribute this to a consistent approach to phonics teaching across the school with the implementation of the Read, Write, Inc programme. All teachers and support staff have been trained in the programme and regular parent phonics and ‘Tell me a story’ workshops have been held and are well attended.

At the end of EYFS (2015-2016 results) the % of children with GLD (a good level of development) in this cohort was 36%

At the end of Key Stage 1 the % of children reaching age related expectations, or ARE, for reading, writing and maths) is 56%.

This shows that the outcomes for this group of children have had a positive increase, of 20%! This puts us in a strong position to be able to continue to build on this progress throughout Key Stage 2.
